266 georgeialdenThanks to the support of generous individuals and organizations, the Worcester Children’s Chorus is able to provide a unique experience to area youth. One such organization, the George I. Alden Trust, has provided critical financial resources to enable to WCC to train, inspire the next generation of vocalists.
George I. Alden established the George I. Alden Trust on August 24, 1912. Today, the Trust is managed by Trustees that carry out Mr. Alden’s wishes. The Trustees, primarily support proposals that they feel, as Mr. Alden would have wanted it, will contribute significantly to the intellectual growth of students and will enhance an institution’s mission.
The Trust places an emphasis on Mr. Alden’s expressed desire to “do the greatest good for the greatest number of beneficiaries.” Such is the case of the Worcester Children’s Chorus where a recent gift of $15,000 has helped our program provide joy and fulfillment, through music instruction and practice as the only community wide, inclusive, choral, music education program in Worcester.
“’The Alden Trust,” said Phillip Montgomery, the Chorus’ Associate Director, “has enabled us to promote our program and provide performance opportunities for our children. We are eternally grateful for the Trust’s support and continued partnership!”
